I'm Shawn Ibarra - a designer and visual storyteller who's passionate about designing empathic digital experiences. I've always been intrigued by the power of design to connect with others on a more emotional level, and I aim to infuse that sense of connection into all that I do.

I believe fantastic design begins with understanding people. Empathy is the core of how I design - it allows me to take complex emotions and turn them into visual language that actually means something. Whether designing for a user, client, or community, I desire to create work that is not just stunning but also significant. Design isn't necessarily about how it looks to me - design is about creating emotional connections and trust.
Throughout my career, I've had the chance to work in branding, web development, front-end engineering, and even motion graphics, combining creativity with clarity to solve design problems. I'm proud of continuing trying out new tools, techniques, and methods to further expand my design skill set. For the most part, however, it's the process of conveying a story or creating a particular feeling through thoughtful, intentional design choices that most inspires me. Every project is an opportunity to learn, grow, and expand my creativity boundaries.
As I continue to develop and expand my career, I am increasingly intrigued by UX/UI design - a profession in which strategy, empathy, and creativity combine. I adore designing on purpose: creating seamless, usable digital experiences that guide users effortlessly through interfaces. In a tech environment that constantly changes, I believe design should be centered around people's experience. Innovative design has the potential to improve not just usability but the overall user experience.I'm excited about bringing my web development and graphic design experience to UX/UI and leveraging the same human-oriented empathy and narrative to guide human-centered digital products. I'm constantly seeking new methods of working, learning from others, and keeping at it. Design is solving problems, sure, but it's also crafting moments that connect, engage, and inspire.
